Yuri Hauswald for Kitsbow

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of dropping in on the infamous Dirty Kanza training camp to shoot photos of the Godzilla of Gravel, Yuri Hauswald, for Kitsbow Cycling Apparel. I couldn’t pass up a chance to hang out with the bike tribe in Emporia, KS,  –something I haven’t had the chance to do for a while.  I checked all my “must-do” boxes over the course of a couple of days: 1. Party at Mulready’s 2. Pet a miniature donkey and its larger donkey guardian 3. Tear ass all over Chase county with the baddest man in the land, Bobby Wintle of District Bikes 4. Roll up on a MASSIVE bald eagle nest 5. Take a long, hard look at the NorCal flavored ball of charisma that is Yuri Hauswald. I luv ya, Emporia.

I’m currently assembling a collection of photos for a solo First Friday show at 19 Below in Kansas City on June 2nd. There will be a good amount of stuff I’ve never shown and I am extremely excited to make some new prints! Hope to see you there!

First Snow of 2017

I’ve been waiting for just the right light/day/conditions to shoot a nice photo of this beautiful bronze statue that sits in front of Strong Hall. I rolled around in my warm bed wanting to go back to sleep, but knowing this bird was waiting for me roused me early enough to get some great early morning light.
